Nemeth Law discusses timely labor and employment topics in third quarter 2019
What are the hot topics employers are concerned about in the workplace? Terry Bonnette, a partner at Detroit-based management side labor and employment law firm Nemeth Law, P.C., presented on some relevant labor and employment matters during the third quarter of 2019.
- On August 15, Bonnette spoke at the American Society of Employers’ (ASE) 8th Annual Employment Law Conference in Livonia about When Employee Rights Collide: LGBT Rights Under the Law.
- Bonnette presented on Federal and State Leave Laws at the Hylant Group Seminar in Southfield on September 26. He also spoke on the topic of Recreational Marijuana–What Employers Can Do to Maintain a Drug Free Workplace at the seminar.
In addition, Bonnette was interviewed by WWJ Newsradio 950 reporter Brooke Allen about “Lying in the Workplace.” He discussed a recent study showing the correlation between job satisfaction and the number of lies employees might tell their employers—demonstrating a need for the two sides to work together to foster trust and empathy in the workplace environment, Bonnette maintained. The segment aired multiple times on August 14 and August 15.
